Position Responsibilities Overview
Explore the comprehensive roles and duties of our dedicated team members, ensuring the smooth operation and management of our community’s resources.
Membership Chair
- November – Update data base of residents at Duanesburg’s and Princetown’s town halls.
- November – Design and print membership brochure (400 copies).
- December – Mail brochure to all Mariaville Lake residents.
- March – Have launch keys duplicate at Wolfe Lock (number based on last year’s sales).
- April – Mail second request brochures to all non-members.
- April/May – Distribute launch keys with flyer outlining “rules of lake” to launch members.
- December-July – Receive memberships, maintain file of all membership brochures, and prepare membership lists for distribution at board meetings.
- Throughout year – Give membership report at board meetings.
- July – Check and sell memberships at annual meeting.
Lake Manager Responsibilities – East Basin
- Increase membership from east basin community.
- Establish east basin lake management committee.
- Enlist boat participation for annual weed pull.
Lake Manager Responsibilities – West Basin
- January/February apply for New York State Federation of Lake Association’s membership along with CSLAP Program. Check from treasurer or president.
- Call lake management committee meetings to distribute information and plan the year’s activities.
- Make DEC contact for the committee on all issues.
- Apply for DEC permits and prepare follow up reports.
- Report to membership at July annual meeting.
- Prepare lake management article(s) for MCA newsletter
- Send in registration for NYSFOLA conference attendance, encouraging members of lake management committee to attend.
- Post information on the MCA bulletin Board for the community.
- Conduct bi-weekly Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program, lake water sampling May thru October, provide president with annual DEC report on request, and advise board of directors with information regarding “HAB” harmful algae bloom if reported by DEC.
- Write letters to local and state politicians for soliciting funding grants for lake management projects, like the Eco Harvester.
- Organize and conduct annual DEC permitted community “weed pull” and community “cook out”, usually the Saturday after the general meeting.
