Good Morning Fellow Community Members, Apologies for not getting this out sooner. Many of you may have seen the activity at the dam yesterday, 9/24. The Mariaville Dam Committee members, Bob Hurry and Jeff Cohen, met with our engineering firm, KB Engineering, to inspect the Mariaville Dam as part of the 2 year recertification. The MCA solicited 3 bids for this project, selecting our current engineer not only for their lowest bid but also their knowledge of the dam. A Very Special THANK YOU to Mariaville Volunteer Fire Department, especially Walt Heidrick, Scott Bukowski, Scott King, Jeff Zier, for bringing their pumper truck to output the water for the inspection. There was visibly water running into the pit above the waterline from the sidewall. Along with their bill of $8,500, KB will be providing the Civic Association an estimate for the repair, which was suggested to be done this year. As a reminder, the Civic Association’s only funding is from our fund raisers and membership. The Town, County and State do not provide any financial support to Mariaville Lake upkeep.
