About Us

Since its inception in 1918, the Mariaville Civic Association has worked on behalf of the residents of the hamlet of Mariaville, New York.The civic association protects and preserves Mariaville Lake, and is the owner and operator of the dam which controls its waters.

Boating Safety

For boater safety and courtesy, please travel counter clockwise when multiple vessel are present on the lake

Lake Laws

  • Do not operate any vessel at a speed in excess of 10 miles per hour, except between 12:00pm and 8:00pm

  • Do not operate any vessel at a speed in excess of 5 miles per hour within 100 feet of the shore.

Residents who draw their water from the lake

The MCA would like to hear from residents who draw their house water from the lake so they can be notified in the future about actions such as the recent water draw down. Please call either:

Weed Harvester Project

The Mariaville Civic Association is currently raising funds to purchase a weed harvester. Weeds and algae interfere with the recreational use of the lake and invasive aquatic vegetation such as eurasian milfoil and curly leaf must be controlled. Currently the MCA conducts an annual volunteer weed pull and places weed control mats. Further options include useage of chemicals, introduction of specialized carp, and a yearly draw-down where the lake level is reduced prior to the winter freeze. All of these control methods have risks and downsides associated with them. The MCA has determined that the best option for weed control is the purchase of a Weed Harvester known as the ecoharvester.
